May and early June provide spectacular shallow water fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and black crappie. Massive populations of game fish move into the shallow bays after ice-out providing the best spin, bait and fly casting opportunities of the year. Spring is also a great time to catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagles, loons, osprey and blue herons.  They all stay in close proximity to their nesting sites during this time of year. Average high temperature is 68 degrees in May and 73 degrees in June.
