Casa Loma Update

We have owned Casa Loma for 3 1/2 years and it has evolved into a popular option for people to enjoy Rainy Lake. For the 2009 season we are booked from May 10- to July 4, July 11 – 28, August 1-8, August 15 – October 10 and December 19 – January 3.

If you are looking for a date there is six days available July 5-11 and one week August 8-15. All guests will be able to reserve their 2010 dates at the end of there stay. If you would like to reserve in 2010 you can check with us as each week of the season passes.

We do keep a current occupancy chart on the www.rainylakevacationhomes.com web site. Some who have been to Casa Loma in the past may not realize that we have added an additional bedroom upstairs.  It has a queen double lower and a single upper bunk.

Every spring we have good walleye fishing from March 20 – April 14. Our walleye season stays open much longer than the inland season. Northern pike is super hot in the spring and there is no closed season. The good bites are with in a mile of Casa Loma a maximum of two miles.  If you are interested the rates are reduced in March and April.

Attention duck hunters! Casa Loma is located one mile from Black Bay and the Rat Root River system. This WMA is one of the largest management areas in the state. Thousands of acres of prime public waterfowl habitat are available for your use literally from the front door of Casa Loma. Black Bay tends to be good for ring necks, mallards, and still gets some bluebills.

If you have any questions or would like to make a reservation for our two remaining openings you can reach us at 1-800-554-9188 or email us at info@rainylakevacationhomes.com

We will see you soon spring is just around the corner!
