Art Kaemmer Chairman Trip

Art’s group arrived on Thursday evening June 19th. We left the dock on Friday morning enjoying a breakfast served by chef Bernie Lessard on our way to Brule Narrows. We moored in a nice secure bay for the next couple nights. Art’s guides were my self on Friday, Kevin Erickson and Norm Wood.

Our water was still on the rise, beds were literally not visible. The bass would come out of nowhere and sock the fly pretty well. Art likes to fish Dahlberg Divers, a very popular deer hair fly, you can see them in the picture of the rod rack. This year the smallmouth did not seem to want them. Smaller poopers seemed to the basses dinner choice.

Smallmouth are a fish that provides patterns that lead to remarkable fishing. This year the patterns have changed daily along with locations. For some guides it s maddening and frustrating, for our guides it is a challenge always met head on making for a satisfying trip for both our customers and guides.DSCN0186201406209509592820140622_13424820140620_112425Below is the International Dam at Kettle Falls.
